Blue Springs South claimed their third straight Final Four softball appearance on Saturday with a 6-2 quarterfinal victory over Liberty.
Easton Seib earned the win for the Jaguars (21-6). She lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out nine and walking none.
Blue Springs South racked up nine hits in the game. Elle Smith and Sophie Lopez managed multiple hits for South.
In the first inning, Liberty (26-6) got their offense started when Joslyn Thieme doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring Marra Kramer from third.
The Jaguars evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning. Abby Sciara's sac fly scored one run for South.
The Jaguars pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. Addie Lightner homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
South tallied three runs in the sixth inning. The rally was led by triples by Lauren Rogers and Regi Hecker and a single by Smith.
Liberty got a seventh inning home run from third baseman Raeli Howerton, but that was all the offense they could muster in their final at bat.
The Jays were plagued by five errors on the day which also matched their hit total.
Blue Springs South will take on Marquette next Friday at 11:00 am in Springfield in a rematch of last years Championship contest.
