JOPLIN, MO—The Joplin Outlaws have announced a new Voice of the Outlaws for the 2021 season, hiring Brennan Mense for the role.

Mense will also help spearhead the launch of a new streaming platform that will operate as a partnership between the Outlaws, the M.I.N.K. League, and the KCMG Broadcasting Group of Kansas City, Missouri.

“After a difficult 2020 for everyone, I am excited to be back in the broadcast booth and excited to be part of a new era in bringing Outlaws baseball to the fans in Joplin and to that of the M.I.N.K. League as a whole,” Mense said.

He comes to Joplin with three seasons of professional baseball broadcasting experience. He served as the lead broadcaster for the Garden City Wind of the Pecos League in their inaugural season of 2015, then moved on to serve as a Broadcasting and Media Relations Assistant for the Gary SouthShore RailCats in 2018 and Bowling Green Hot Rods in 2019.

Mense also has worked in the Media Relations department with the Kansas City Royals in 2017 and was scheduled to work in the Wichita Wind Surge’s Media Relations department before the 2020 season was cancelled.

Outside of baseball, he also has two seasons of basketball broadcasting experience for the Emporia High School Spartans in Emporia, Kansas, as well as two years broadcasting high school football and one year of Metropolitan Community College basketball for KCMG Broadcasting.

Further details on the launch of the streaming platform and coverage will be announced at a later date.

The Outlaws are scheduled to launch their 48-game M.I.N.K. League slate on June 2 at Springfield, with their home opener scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. first pitch on June 4 vs. Des Moines.
