Uclick TV will broadcast three games Friday, Sept. 29 on uclicktv.com.

Chillicothe (5-1, 3-1 MEC) at

Savannah (2-4, 2-2)

Following last week’s 54-38 home loss to Lafayette, the Hornets will look to get back on track at Savannah against a suddenly hot Savages squad.

As usual, Chillicothe will look to do most of their work on the ground on offense. The Hornets averaged nearly 6 yards a rush last week and feature multiple quality running backs, with Josh Kile and Brett Shaffer receiving the majority of the carries.

Following an 0-4 start, Savannah is coming off decisive back-to-back wins after it took care of Benton (53-0) and Cameron (42-0).

Savages sophomore quarterback Chase Spoonemore leads the team on offense and is a threat with both his arm and legs.

Bishop LeBlond (2-4, 1-3 MEC) at

Benton (0-6, 0-4)

Two teams in search of a win meet at Benton tonight when LeBlond makes the trip across town to face the Cardinals.

LeBlond, who perennially as the toughest schedule in the state for a Class 2 team, has lost three in a row following a 2-1 start to the year.

Those three losses, however, have come to the top half of the MEC in Maryville, Chillicothe and Smithville, and don’t indicate the quality of a team the Eagles are.

Benton is still in search of its first win of the year. It will look to pick up momentum with a win in its final home game and next week at Cameron.

Penney High of Hamilton (5-1, 3-1 KCI) at Lawson (3-3, 3-1)

Lawson is the place to be Friday for small-class football.

In a showdown with massive implications for the KCI race, Penney heads to Lawson with both teams carrying 3-1 conference records.

The loser is likely eliminated from having a shot at the KCI title.

The Cardinals enter the game off a 26-20 loss in Gower last week to East Buchanan. Their other two losses have come to Maryville and undefeated and state-ranked Higginsville, so don’t let their record fool you.

Lawson also marks the only team to hand Lathrop a loss this season.

Penney lost a nailbiter, 21-20, to Lathrop in week 3, but has won three in a row since, including last week’s 42-7 win at West Platte in a game that was tied at halftime.
