First match: MMA 4, Chillicothe 1
Missouri Military Academy scored 3 first half goals, in a span of 3 minutes, then added a 4th goal late in the match. CHS forward Bryce Hague scored a penalty kick following a hard foul in the box on CJ Pfaff, in the 59th minute. Drew Toedebusch made 7 saves in the match.
"I thought this match was closer than the final score indicated. MMA is a very talented team, and outside of a few defensive breakdowns, we played really well. Through out the second half we had several scoring opportunities, and our defense was very solid.
Second Match: Chillicothe 3, Mexico 2
Chillicothe jumped out to a quick 2 goal lead following a pair of goals by Senior Midfielder, Jacob Anderson. Jacob's first goal was set up by a great pass by Gavin Seeley, who was credited with the assist. 5 minutes later, Jacob scored again on corner kick, played by Bryce Hague. Mexico answered in the 21st minute and made the score at the half 2-1.
Mexico scored again in the 59th minute to even the score at 2. Chillicothe's Bryce Hague earned his second assist of the match finding freshmen Mason Baxter in front of the net for the game winning goal with 13 minutes left in the match. Keeper Drew Toedebusch made 4 saves.
"An exciting match to the end the day. Our guys battled some tired legs, playing back to back matches, and earned a hard fought win and a 2nd place plaque."
