Hornets will face Moberly In Class 2 District 15 Tournament

Chillicothe High School’s soccer Hornets, 10-9-1 in the regular season, will compete in the 4-teams Class 2 District 15 tournament at Cameron next week (Oct. 16-19). The Hornets will have their first match against Moberly at approximately 6:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16. Top-seeded Kirksville and the winless host Dragons will square off in the preceding semifinal at 5 p.m. Monday’s winners are due to square off for the district title Thursday, Oct. 19, at 5 p.m. on Cameron’s artificially-turfed Dave Goodwin Field. For those unable to attend next week’s Chillicothe matches, they will be televised live online by Chillicothe-based UClickTV at www.uclicktv.com. The telecasts also will be archived on the www.uclicktv.com website for later viewing, according to UClickTV owner/executive producer Jim Bligh. Second-seeded Chillicothe and top seed Kirksville split two regular-season meetings, each prevailing by shutout on its home turf – CHS 2-0 and KHS 3-0. Kirksville topped the Hornets 3-1 in Chillicothe in last year’s district-title match. Chillicothe did not face Moberly during the regular season this fall nor did Cameron and Kirksville clash.
