UMKC Womens Soccer Ranked #9 in Pacific Region


Roos Using Hometown Flavor in Hot Start

The UMKC Roos women’s soccer team is ranked in the top-10 for the Pacific Region of Division I for the first time in school history. Off to their best start in program history with a record of 11-3 (3-0), the Roos are led by four seniors that lead the team in all scoring categories. Reighan and Rylan Childers (Grain Valley, MO), Kelsey Mothershead (Smithville,MO), and Lexi Howard (Kearney, MO). Mothershead leads the team in goals with 10 while Rylan Childers and Lexi Walker co-lead the team in assists with nine along with six goals apiece. In net, the team is led by freshman Afton Fennwald (Lake Winnebago, MO) who allows less than a goal a game and has not allowed a goal in the last 210 minutes of play.

The Roos next game is tomorrow night on the road in sunny Riverside, CA to take on California Baptist University which can be seen on the WAC Digital Network with coverage beginning at 5pm CT. Their next home game is this Sunday at 1pm from the Durwood Soccer Stadium & Recreational Center as they host the Grand Canyon Lopes before hitting the road for the next few games.
