There will be plenty of basketball games played in 3 buildings this year.
Starting with the MIAA Basketball Tournaments, the Men’s and Women’s Basketball tourneys tips off Wednesday, March 6th and runs through Sunday, March 10th at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, MO.
Next up is the Men’s Big 12 Tournament at the Sprint Center running from Wednesday, March 13th through Saturday, March 16th. Don’t miss out on any of the action and fun happening at the Power & Light district as well.
Over at #TheH Hy-Vee Arena (formerly Kemper), we have KC’s pro basketball team, the Kansas City Tornadoes, and the Central U.S. Military Basketball Championship games.
The Kansas City Tornadoes are in action March 15th & 18th at 7 P.M. versus the Tampa Bay Titans.
The Central U.S. Military Basketball League will be hosting its end of the season Championship Tournament at #THEH Hy-Vee Arena. Play will begin March 16th and run from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M. on 4 courts in the bottom bowl at the Arena. Championship Sunday will see the Semi-final game tipping off at 10 A.M. and the Championship game at 12 P.M.
The league brings 16 teams from military bases across 10 states. The teams are comprised of military members who have turned in their boots for sneakers and take to the hardwood to battle it out for a spot in Sunday's final four on the Hy-Vee Arena Championship Court. The players are here to have a good time, but league commissioner Jason LaFasciano says it would mean a lot for them to play in front of a packed house on both days. "This would be great to have people come out and support," LaFasciano said. "It's a free event, so come on out. We'll get to watch these military athletes play. It would be great for us, great for them because like I said they don't get that kind of environment, so to have what we call butts in the seats. Even if you don't know anybody just to come out and see them play and everything, it puts them in the environment of a real game, to play on a professional floor, it would be amazing."
If you love basketball, there is plenty to be had right here in Kansas City. Lots of action in three great locations.
