The best high school basketball players in the Kansas City metro were recognized at the annual DiRenna Awards ceremony at the College Basketball Experience. Blue Valley Northwest senior Christian Braun was presented with the DiRenna Award after leading his Huskies to a third straight state championship. The female DiRenna Award winner is North Kansas City senior Chandler Prater. She becomes the fourth two-time winner of the DiRenna. Both Braun and Prater will play their college basketball at the University of Kansas.
