The Renegades (0-2) offense came to life, pulling within one of the Bombers in the fifth. But defensive woes again plagued Jefferson City as they committed four errors behind the pitching staff - their seventh in the first two games. Justin McIntyre led the way for the Renegades bats, collecting two hits including an extrabase hit off the wall that drove in a run.
For Sedalia, it was once again Ryan Flores that dealt the most damage of any Bomber in the lineup. Flores drove in three on the night from the cleanup spot, while William Nelson and Tyler LaPorte each scored a pair of runs. Picking up the win was Jack Schmedding, who pitched four innings in relief of the starter Dakota Cortese.
While the Renegades trailed by six heading into the ninth, the team again resiliently loaded the bases in a comeback effort for the second consecutive night before eventually succumbing to Sedalia.
The Renegades will again seek their first win of the season tomorrow night, as they return home for a three game set against the Clarinda A’s.
